Trail Download of Windows 7 -> MAPS Serial Key Activation
Hello there,Please bare with me as I am new to MAPS never mind the TechNet forum. I wanted to ask a simple question regarding MAPS.I recently subscribed to MAPS and wanted to know if itis possible to install a copy ofWindows 7 Ultimate while I wait for Microsoft to grant me access to the serial keys for MAPS software?ie. Install Trail -> Activate with MAPS serial.NormallyI am patient with this type of thing however, I haverecently had to salvage my data from an extremelyold Athlon XP machine (yes....extremelyold!)and I really need toget back to workbutI don't want to install a copy of Windows 7on my new machine and configure my software just tofind out Ihave to do it all over again.Any help is much appreciated and thanks in advance!

The key wouldn't be the same, but if you got a key with the Windows 7 you have now, no problem. I use the Technet subscription but it shouldn't be very long (few hours to a day maybe) to activate your MAPS subscription. Then its just a matter of downloading your ISO, burn it and you'll be good to go.MCSE, MCSA, MCDST

Thanks for your reply,The only copy I have at present is the RC and a retail version of Ultimate which was purchased for another machine. Unfortunately MAPS takes from 2 to 30 days to process, for some unknown reason? Is it not possible to use either a VLK, OEM or Retail copy and then activate once I have received MAPS?Thanks again.

I've decided just to get the trial and then reinstall when I eventually get MAPS access. Not ideal but there appears to be little choice in the matter :(Thanks for the help anyway.

Sorry, thought it would activate like my technet did as its been years since I did a MAPS, for me technet gave me more options even if it did cost a little more.MCSE, MCSA, MCDST
